Leo Burnett Chicago Delivers ‘The Chant’ Olympics Film for Samsung

Agency’s first Olympics work for brand showcases the power of technology to amplify the human spirit

Samsung and Leo Burnett Chicago released “The Chant,” the agency’s first film for the brand’s Olympics activation. The film is part of a wider campaign by Samsung to celebrate individuals who defy barriers to reach their goals.

“The Chant” helps to celebrate South Sudan’s debut at the 2016 Summer Games in Rio. The film spotlights Margret Rumat Rumat Hassan, who is seen putting on a pair of newly released Samsung Gear IconX cord-free earbuds before walking out into a stadium. Instantly, she is connected to her fellow South Sudanese, who chant and cheer her name and are are proud to have collectively defied barriers and finally participate meaningfully at the world’s most high-profile sporting event.

Leo Burnett Chicago’s Olympics campaign for Samsung follows the global Galaxy S7 launch, which strives to tell beautiful stories of how the power of technology amplifies the human spirit.

Samsung has also released “A Fighting Chance,” a short documentary film by Academy Award-winning director Morgan Neville that features four Olympians and their tales of hope and determination.
