LAPIZ Names Luciana Cani SVP, Executive Creative Director
Former Leo Burnett Lisbon exec to oversee agency’s creative work across all clients
LAPIZ appointed Luciana Cani as its new senior vice president, executive creative director to oversee the agency’s creative team. Cani will lead creative output across the full client portfolio, which includes Advanced Auto Parts, Allstate, Purina and the Mexico Tourism Board.
Cani has nearly 20 years of advertising experience, with the past nine years spent as a key leader of Leo Burnett Lisbon, overseeing creative work for clients including Samsung, Atlantico Bank and the Portuguese National Railway.
“Luciana’s collaborative and transformational leadership is a perfect fit for LAPIZ,” said Gustavo Razzetti, managing director, LAPIZ. “Her innovation-forward approach will boost our outsider thinking to continue driving great results for our clients.”
Cani’s goal to bring craftsmanship to every piece of work she produces is evident in her past projects, such as Amnesty International’s “Sounds From Torture,” the Lisbon City Council’s “LXType” and the EDP Foundation’s “Brochure Made Entirely Without Energy.”
Her work has gained global recognition including awards from D&AD, Cannes Lions, One Show, Clios, Eurobest and ADCE. Cani is also the only creative director to appear three times at the top of the rankings of the official Creative Club of Portugal.
“I'm very happy to accept a totally new and exciting challenge with the feeling that I’m part of the same family. I Iook forward to joining the LAPIZ team to make great things that challenge expectations and defy the ordinary,” said Cani. “LAPIZ has steadily produced top-tier work across industries, and I can’t wait to be a part of its journey forward.”
LAPIZ has produced several award-winning campaigns over the past year, most notably Mexico Tourism Board’s “Snow Graffiti,” which has received honors from Cannes, the American Advertising Awards, the Kinsale Shark Awards and more. The agency’s latest work for Mexico Tourism Board, “Doppelgänger Tourists,” launched just last month.
Cani helped Leo Burnett Lisbon become one of the 10 most awarded agencies in the world. Prior to Leo Burnett, the Brazilian native worked as an art director at leading agencies in Saõ Paulo, Brazil, including Leo Burnett, Ogilvy & Mather and Grey. Cani is also a published author and illustrator; her debut children’s book was recently included on the National Reading Plan of the Portuguese Ministry of Education.
