It’s a simple offense that many of us are guilty of: Leaving the office without shutting off our computers.
Fortunately, HP has just launched a powerful Act that’s likely to change this behavior. Power To Change encourages people to shut down at the end of the day via a downloadable desktop widget that tracks the cumulative energy saved through this collective effort.
According to HP, if 100,000 people shut down, it could save more than 2,680 kilowatt-hours and reduce carbon emissions by more than 3,500 pounds daily. To put it in perspective, that’s roughly equivalent to eliminating 105 cars from the roads for a day.
The Power of Change campaign, which is supported creatively and from a development angle by Arc Singapore, is launching across HP’s three regions: Asia Pacific and Japan, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and the Americas. And it’s available in five languages.
So go check it out, download the widget and, of course, don’t forget to shut it down when you leave this evening!
